In the 1990s, the US Army created the acronym V.U.C.A. to describe the threats arising from volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous situations. The business environment is no different. With the fast pace of technological advancement and the ever-intensifying competitive environment, it is more critical than ever for leaders to be equipped with the right skills to navigate the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity and host of other unexpected challenges that are part and parcel of business.

Leaders should not only expect change but also instigate and predict change. Through strategic thinking and foresight, they can then seize opportunities, implement plans and make informed decisions that will benefit the company.
